![]() ![]() ![]() The Spellslinger has two important class features. The foundation: Class Features and Archetypes: Most of this can be just be put together by reading a good Magus or Gunslinger guide, but why not have it all in one place? For further options for the Magus see this guide, if you are interested in Gunslingers take a look at this one, and there is a guide to the Spellslinger Archetype here. This short guide explores the options for combining the two. With this archetype, you can cast spells and attack with a ranged weapon during the same full-round action. Of all the spellcasting classes, the Eldritch Archer Magus is the one best-suited for ranged weapons. Thus, the most common recommendation is simply a 1-level dip for the archetype and then going into any other class. However, it's defining feature - Arcane Gun - can be used with spells from any source, not just Wizard-spells. Either way the concept of a gunslinger firing quasi real shadows at things is pretty dope. The Spellslinger Wizard Archetype is cool, but sadly cripples the Wizard entirely too much with four opposition schools and no cantrips. Or you could stick to full inquisitor and really commit to the caster slinger vibe. At that level with Improved TWF, Rapid shot and some kind of haste effect, youre going to be firing 6 shots/round against touch AC. This gives you Dex to damage and Weapon Training.Īt around level 10, Inquis 5, Fighter 5, with things like weapon specialization, dex to damage, weapon training, gloves of dueling, enhancement bonuses, judgement, and bane - even minimum damage when they successfully save is going to be very strong. I would take Inquisitor to 5, then move into Trench Fighter. An Inquisitor could take Craft Magic Arms and Armor and have the shadowshooting enchant giving him unlimited ammunition by level 5. I would personally suggest a TWF build using Inquisitor with Black Powder Inquisition. Bonus if you take a caster class with it, you can pick up Craft Magic Arms and Armor and not have to worry about trying to find it. One of the more flavorful additions from blood of shadows was Shadowshooting, which gives your gun unlimited ammo, and would be an awesome addition to a shadow based caster. /r/3d6 - For character creation, advice and sharing (system agnostic)./r/Battlemaps - For your VTT battlemap requirements./r/Tabletop - For your general tabletop gaming shenanigans./r/lfg - Looking For Group, find other players, etc./r/RPG - For general, non-Pathfinder related RPG discussion./r/Starfinder_rpg - For dedicated discussion of Paizo's Science Fantasy system and setting./r/Pathfinder_Kingmaker - To discuss the Owlcat-made computer RPGs./r/Pathfinder2e - For dedicated Second Edition discussion./r/Pathfinder - For Pathfinder Society Organization/Discussion.Other subreddits you might be interested in: Fillable character sheets and intelligent character builders. Some of these tools and resources include the following: We have a Wiki page that includes links for various useful tools and resources, most of which have been provided by the members of this community.
